Cell Phone Homicide

Today’s topic was inspired by two stories that I read recently.

Cell Phone Etiquette

Geek Squad Technician a Peeping Tom

If you read the first link and didn’t see the big deal about the situation then you are obviously a CELL PHONE ETIQUETTE OFFENDER! This is where you and I shall part ways because you are obviously not a Coherent Thinker. In college I worked at a local custard shop and I often found myself working the register or the drive-thru. I enjoyed both even though a lot of my co-workers did not. I could not stand when people came up to the register with a cell phone stuck to their face. It made doing my job and being courteous very difficult. It was even worse when they were on a cell phone at the drive-thru. Someone would pull up to the speaker and we would give our greeting. The person would then start talking. This is when I would respond to clarify what they were saying only to be scolded and notified harshly that they were not talking to me. That’s why, while in college, I wrote an English paper titled “Cell Phone Homicide”. It was one of my favorite essays that I had ever written and the teacher really enjoyed it. I’ll try to upload it if I can find it.

I’ll refrain from calling the cell phone the “worst invention ever made” only because I own one and really enjoy having one. I enjoy mine so much that I don’t even have a house phone. I use my cell phone for every call I make. I do, however, understand that there are times that the cell phones needs to be left out of the picture. I would ask you to do the same thing especially when using a hands-free device. I won’t even attempt that fiasco in this topic.

So next time you’re getting ready to order at your local food establishment and your cell phone rings - Let it go! I would hate to see another victim of a Cell Phone Homicide!
