Well the debate was once again mostly meh…but it was better than the last one I think.
I thought McCain came out fighting a littler hard this time around and really wanted the people to know that he wants to be President! That’s what he needed to do. He could have come on stronger I think really.
Obama sat there and took it all in and just tried deflecting everything John was throwing. Defense may be his strategy and it may land him in the White House but he appeared weak and defensive. However, he does present himself better and is a much more slick candidate. Remind me of good ole Slick Willy!
I thought this moderator was the best. He kept things going but encouraged them to debate each other and not just listen to his wonderful voice (Tom Brokaw).
I was glad to hear the Abortion issue come up and that is the topic where John McCain and I agree on 99% and I was happy to hear him stand so strong on that issue. It is an important one for me and validated, to me, why I will be voting for him.
If you missed what McCain was trying to point out about Obama on this issue then you need to do some research. As a resident of Illinois, I know exactly what he was talking about. Obama did oppose a bill (regardless of how he tried to spin it last night) that would make it illegal to give care to a baby that was born as a result of a failed abortion and to me that is appalling and a major reason not to vote for Obama.
I was also glad to hear education brought up and I must say that is another topic that I’m with John. I’m all for education reform and not just throwing money at the issue. I also think that vouchers are a valid option for our educational system.
So, as to a clear winner, its still hard to determine. I think McCain came out more on the attack, which he needed to do and that Obama was deflecting which is probably wise for him at the moment. I think Obama presents himself better but that is not necessarily what wins debates. So I think that in this final debate I would give a slight edge to McCain and the other two were basically a draw.
