Preach It!

I heard this woman’s concerns on the news this morning and had to shout AMEN! at the television. She says exactly what I’ve been thinking and I hope that others will take notice and voice their concerns as well.

Audience Shouts Down Sebelius, Specter at Health Care Town Hall in Philadelphia

Because this woman had great Common Sense she will be awarded the Coherent Thinker Award.

This is great, and at the same time they (the liberals in congress and the media) have already brushed if off as some paid attack by the Republicans.

First, the currently organized (HA HA HA) Republican party is too chicken livered and dumb to do this. They blamed Rush Limbaugh, but he has challenged anyone to give proof he was involved.

The idiots in congress have ignored their own people so long that when the people buck up they brush it off as nothing, or as crazy ramblings of a few.

I agree, she deserves the award! People are finally starting to stand up and say what they think. Finally!

Don’t have much time, but I’ll throw in my 2 cents.

This quote popped out to me
“Americans want lower health care costs — not a trillion-dollar government takeover of health care”

With that bombshell it should be noted that the US pays the most for health care, and in terms of what we receive we rank 37. To say that our system is “working” is a lie.

Fulcrum you may not have much time but you still need to back up your claims with facts.

Even if what you say is true, our health care in this country is as good as any around. I’ll keep the system we have rather than changing things into a junk system.

If you really want the government to take over our healthcare, then just think of the system that it runs now and make it for everyone. If that doesn’t convince you, go back to school at a public school that is not exclusive (or work there). Still nothing? Eat the food there. Still nothing? Well, crud…you might be a lost cause.

The WHO world health report from 2000 placed the US as spending the most per capita yet ranking 37th overall.

DangerousNate: So wait, what is wrong with public education?

I will still take our current health care over what the Obama Care will do to the health care system. My wife is a nurse and the doctors she works with say that the bill in any of its current forms will limit who they can treat and they will have to choose to only deal with the healthiest clients.

That comes straight from the doctors and I think they may have some insight on the issue.

Let’s see, other than them messing up such a simple thing as feeding our kids edible food (unless it’s changed drastically over 3 years since I’ve been there), some teachers having to learn some subjects along with the students (because they’re teaching something they know little to nothing about), and the lack of moral fiber in most kids there (well that may not be an education issue but lack of discipline anyway), I guess not much.

I also say that part of the spending could be attributed to some pork and/or corruption perhaps?

Jeremy: The insurance companies already decide who gets treatment and who doesn’t. They find ways to terminate the contract of a customer who has a disease that they don’t want to pay. There was a cases not that long ago in front of congress in which congress questioned the top reps from some of these major companies, and customers who were denied. One such women who had severe cancer had her insurance revoked because she did not disclose a time that she went to a dermatologies about her acne, another man was denied because the insurance company recored his weight wrong, and never asked him to verify it. How is this fair? The public option is pretty much gone from the bill, and maybe preventing insurance companies from denying clients there care on the sole basis to save money is important for reform. Also the fact that at this current time we are not allowed to negotiate with the pharmaceuticals companies for drug cost is also wasting tax payer money.
The healthcare system in the US has been unregulated for years, anything to add some government oversight will be a good thing.

DangerousNate: The education system goal is not to be the parent of your kids, it is to teach them, the job of parenting still rely on the actual parent. If you don’t like the food your kids get at school give them a lunch box and make them a sandwich at home. (both healthier and cheaper).
The fact that there are teachers who do not hold degrees in their respective fields is bad, but this problem comes with the low pay wages of teachers. Why should a college grad with a degree in chemistry get a job as a teacher when he can earn twice the salary working for a lab.
Personally I believe that parents should be installing moral fiber into their kids.
The education system could use some reform, but it really doesn’t require a complete overhaul.

Pork legislation is not all that bad, why else would I care who my district congressmen and women are. One of the main goals for members of the House are to satisfy the needs of my district, yes maybe we need money for a bridge to allow a town to grow into a city, or maybe we need money to fund new businesses. My only problem with pork is when it is sneaked into other legislation, and both republicans and democrats do this one a lot.

Fulcrum, your blind liberalism is amazing.

You really are going to need some reliable sources before I can take you seriously.
